*STARZ has ordered eight episodes of “Power: Legacy.” The new drama continues the long-running franchise. It brings back Michael Rainey Jr. and Joseph Sikora in leading roles.
According to the news release, the series reunites Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick. Sikora returns as Tommy Egan. Both characters first appeared in “Power” over a decade ago. They later headlined separate spinoffs within the franchise.
“Power: Legacy” comes from STARZ and Lionsgate Television. The co-production model marks a shift from earlier licensing deals. It also expands STARZ ownership of its original programming. The approach strengthens its control of franchise revenue.

The story follows Tommy’s return to New York. He teams up with Tariq to take over the city. Their paths converge after years of separate storylines. The series continues the evolving “Power” universe.
Executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson praised the reunion. He said, “Power never dies, and this chapter is our biggest yet.” He added that fans have waited for the characters to unite on screen.
STARZ programming president Kathryn Busby said the audience helped drive the decision. She said, “The fans have spoken, and we listened.” She also noted the franchise’s long cultural impact.
Showrunner Gary Lennon said the collaboration will push the story forward. He said, “It’s going to be electrifying to see if these two men can share the city, the game and the intoxicating drug known as POWER.”
The greenlight follows strong performance from “Power Book IV: Force.” The series saw major audience growth and millions of viewers across platforms. It also concluded with a surprise Tariq appearance. That moment fueled speculation about a crossover storyline.
“Power: Legacy” becomes the latest expansion of the franchise. It joins previous entries including “Power Book II: Ghost,” “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” and “Power Book IV: Force.” It also connects to the upcoming prequel “Power: Origins.”
