*The viral dating show “Pop The Balloon,” originally a YouTube sensation, is making its way to Netflix in a fresh, live format.
The streaming giant has announced the launch of “Pop The Balloon Live,” set to debut on April 10 at 8 p.m. ET, Deadline reports. This reimagined version of the popular internet series will provide fans with a thrilling, interactive take on the unique dating experiment that has captivated millions online. In the show, singles unconventionally test their chemistry by keeping their balloon intact—once your balloon pops, your chances at love are gone. “Pop The Balloon Live” will be hosted by actress and comedian Yvonne Orji, best known for her role on “Insecure.”
The series was created by Arlette Amuli and her husband, Bolia Matundu. Throughout nearly 50 episodes on Amuli’s YouTube channel, “Pop The Balloon” (and its sister series, “Find Love”) amassed an impressive 100 million views. The success of the digital version quickly caught the attention of Netflix, which has been expanding its content offerings by adapting viral hits from social media platforms.

In addition to Orji as host, “Pop The Balloon Live” will feature reality stars Johnny Bananas from “The Challenge,” Chase DeMoor from “Too Hot to Handle,” Farrah Abraham from “Teen Mom,” and Zaina Sesay from “The Ultimatum.”
The show is produced by Sharp Entertainment, a Sony-backed production company known for its work on TLC’s hit franchise “90 Day Fiancé.” The executive producing team includes Matt Sharp, Dan Adler, Bonnie Biggs, Ellen Rocamora, along with Amuli and Matundu themselves.
