*Plus-sized rapper Dank Demoss is suing Lyft after a driver allegedly refused her ride, claiming she was too large for his car.
The incident took place in Detroit when the driver, identified as Ibrahim, arrived in a Mercedes-Benz sedan and locked the doors, later telling Demoss she should order a larger vehicle. Demoss, who weighs around 489 pounds, recorded the interaction, and the video went viral. She has since filed a lawsuit against Lyft for discrimination based on her size.
“I can fit in this car,” Dank, who also goes by Dajua Blanding, could be heard saying in a video.
“Believe me, you can’t,” the driver clapped back, noting that his tires wouldn’t be able to handle her weight.

The driver was recorded apologizing to Demoss while standing by his decision to cancel the ride, suggesting she request an XL vehicle instead.
“I’ve been in this situation before,” the driver said.
“So every big person, you turn down because they can’t fit in your car?” Demoss responded.
“I’ve been in cars smaller than that,” she told FOX2 after filing her million-dollar lawsuit against the ride-share company. “I just want them to know that it hurt my feelings.”
One popular X account called the lawsuit a “money grab.”
User @celebriD wrote, “Money grab. Giving her money would assist her in eating more high caloried foods. She isn’t ugly, but she is morbidly obese. That’s the issue. Lizzo had that fuck it mentality too. Now, she is working out. Take notes Dank.”

A Lyft spokesperson condemned discrimination.
“Lyft unequivocally condemns all forms of discrimination — we believe in a community where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness,” the spokesperson said.
“Our community guidelines and terms of service explicitly prohibit harassment or discrimination.”
