*Police in Toledo, Ohio, have issued warrants for the arrest of Jeanita Hopings following a violent incident involving her boyfriend in which she cut his scrotum open. Yikes!
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Hopings, 45, faces charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary. The warrant alleges that on Tuesday, Oct. 7, Hopings “forcefully kicked open the front door” of her boyfriend’s residence and entered without consent. Once inside, she allegedly attacked him using an “unknown instrument.”
Authorities state that Hopings cut the man’s testicles during the assault. The warrant reads: “Victim’s testicle was clearly exposed as the result of the laceration.”
Hopings is described as a 45-year-old woman, standing 5’6″ and weighing approximately 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. While the victim, a man, was treated at a local hospital and subsequently released, there have been no further public updates regarding the specifics of his recovery or long-term prognosis, leaving a key part of the story unresolved.

Hopings’ background reveals a figure with a limited public footprint. A resident of Toledo, her digital presence consists of a Facebook profile that has been inactive since 2023 and a Pinterest account under the username “jeanita31,” which is filled with typical lifestyle and inspiration pins. Public records indicate a prior, non-violent arrest from 2012, though the details are redacted. This history suggests minor legal entanglements but provides no clear precursor to the current, violent allegations. Consistent with privacy norms, official reports have not disclosed any professional or detailed family information.
The case has ignited a firestorm of media attention and public reaction, largely due to its shocking and graphic nature. The People Magazine article detailing the alleged assault, has amassed over 1.2 million views, often framing the story within the context of victim advocacy. Locally, WTOL 11 amplified coverage by airing surveillance footage that purportedly shows the moment Hopings breached the victim’s door, a move that has significantly boosted public engagement and tips.
On social media, the reaction has been intense and multifaceted. A dedicated thread on the forum Lipstick Alley has garnered more than 500 replies, with users expressing a mix of horror and macabre humor. On X (formerly Twitter), the hashtag #ToledoAssault has trended locally, spawning memes alongside calls for justice. In response, Toledo Police Department’s domestic violence unit has become actively involved, publicizing victim assistance hotlines and implementing heightened patrols in the Reynolds Corners neighborhood, though an arrest remains pending as the search continues.
