*Mo’Nique has emerged as an ally for Shannon Sharpe, offering unwavering support as he navigates the aftermath of a $50 million sexual assault lawsuit. During an Instagram Live session on August 13, the comedian addressed the allegations against Sharpe, emphasizing loyalty and resilience.
“We’ve all not walked the perfect line, we’ve all had mistakes, we’ve all taken a fall, we’ve all had to get up and get to going again,” the Oscar winner said, reflecting on Sharpe’s challenges, per Vibe. “So, that is my brother, and I love my brother.” Her words carried weight, drawing from her own battles with industry giants like Tyler Perry and Oprah.
Mo’Nique shared a personal connection to Sharpe’s struggles, recalling, “I know what it feels like for people to quit on you and give up on you. That won’t be me. Shannon Sharpe? That’s Shay Shay, baby. We love him.”
The lawsuit, filed in April 2025 by Gabi Zuniga, a former OnlyFans creator, accused Sharpe of multiple assaults and threatening behavior during a “rocky consensual relationship.”
Sharpe, through attorney Lanny J. Davis, denied the claims, calling them “lies, distortions, and misrepresentations” and a “blatant and cynical attempt to shake down Mr. Sharpe for millions of dollars.” The case settled out of court in July 2025 for an undisclosed sum, followed by Zuniga’s abrupt retirement from OnlyFans.

A resurfaced clip from Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast highlighted Mo’Nique’s earlier warning about his relationships with younger women. “You’d better take your old a** and get somebody to love you… You’re trying to hang out with these young b*tches… You can’t do it, Shannon!” she advised.
Despite the scrutiny, Mo’Nique’s public defense underscores a bond rooted in shared resilience, amplifying debates about loyalty and accountability in the public eye.
