*Comedian Mike Epps has apologized to Nicki Minaj following a controversial performance during his Louisville, Kentucky stop on the We Them Ones Tour.
The jokes, which referenced Minaj’s political support for former President Donald Trump, went viral and sparked mixed reactions from fans. Epps suggested that Minaj was being “trained on by Donald Trump and them” and poked fun at her claim of holding a “gold card” visa, implying it offered residency rights. At one point, he also called out a fan in the audience, saying, “Shut up, btch, fck you and Nicki Minaj.”
Minaj has been openly supportive of Trump since last November, praising him over international issues and attending events such as Turning Point USA’s America Fest. She later attended a Trump Accounts summit, held hands with Trump, and called herself his “No. 1 fan.” She also referenced receiving a “gold card” from Trump, which White House officials confirmed is a symbolic memento rather than an actual visa or residency document.
