*Michael Jackson’s three children — Prince Jackson, Paris Jackson and Bigi Jackson — could eventually inherit enormous wealth from their father’s estate, but there is no verified evidence that each sibling is “soon” receiving a $1 billion payout.
The eye-popping claim has an understandable origin. The King of Pop’s estate has generated billions since his 2009 death, while the blockbuster success of the 2026 biopic “Michael” has put Jackson’s commercial power back in the spotlight.
But estate earnings, asset valuations and the amount ultimately distributed to beneficiaries are three very different numbers.
The documented picture shows Jackson’s children positioned to inherit a substantial portion of an extraordinarily valuable estate. It does not show three billion-dollar checks waiting to be handed out.
Michael Jackson’s Estate Has Generated Billions
Jackson died in 2009 with debts exceeding $500 million, according to court filings cited by Forbes and other outlets.
Since then, executors John Branca and the late John McClain have overseen a dramatic financial turnaround.
Forbes estimated in April 2026 that Jackson’s estate had earned more than $3.5 billion since his death. The publication noted that significant amounts of that money have gone toward taxes, debts and years of legal expenses.
The estate has also completed several massive deals.
In 2016, Jackson’s interest in the ATV music catalog was sold to Sony for $750 million. In 2024, Sony acquired a 50% stake in Jackson’s recorded music and songwriting assets for approximately $600 million, a transaction that valued the music rights involved at more than $1.2 billion.
Those numbers help explain why speculation about billion-dollar inheritances continues.
But $3.5 billion in cumulative estate earnings is not equivalent to $3.5 billion in cash available for distribution.
How Jackson Divided His Fortune
Jackson’s estate plan provides the clearest picture of where his wealth is intended to go.
Under the Michael Jackson Family Trust structure reported after his death, 40% was designated for his mother, Katherine Jackson, during her lifetime. Another 40% was designated for his three children, while the remaining 20% was earmarked for children’s charities.
The children’s 40% share is divided among Prince, Paris and Bigi.
Katherine’s interest is structured to ultimately pass to Jackson’s children after her death, meaning the siblings are positioned to become the primary family beneficiaries of their father’s remaining fortune.
That could eventually represent extraordinary wealth.
What cannot currently be established is that each child’s eventual net inheritance will equal $1 billion — much less that such a payout is coming “soon.”

Paris Jackson Has Received About $65 Million
There is also an important correction to some versions of the inheritance story circulating online.
Court filings do not establish that all three Jackson children have each received approximately $65 million.
The documented $65 million figure specifically concerns Paris Jackson.
In an October 2025 filing, the estate’s executors said Paris had received “roughly $65 million from the Estate in benefits.”
The disclosure emerged during Paris’ legal battle over the management of her father’s estate.
Paris has challenged payments authorized by the executors, arguing that greater transparency and accountability are needed.
She scored a significant victory in May 2026.
A ruling ordered three lawyers to return $625,000 in bonuses paid from the estate in 2018. A spokesperson for Paris characterized the decision as a “massive win.”

‘Michael’ Adds Another Billion-Dollar Milestone
One billion-dollar figure connected to Michael Jackson is unquestionably real.
“Michael,” the Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic starring Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office in July 2026.
The movie became the first biopic ever to reach that milestone, surpassing both “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Oppenheimer” to become the highest-grossing biographical film in box-office history.
That $1 billion, however, is worldwide theatrical revenue for a movie — not an inheritance payment to Jackson’s children.
The distinction matters, especially as multiple billion-dollar figures surrounding Jackson’s estate, music rights and movie success make exaggerated inheritance claims sound plausible.
A Huge Inheritance, But No $1 Billion Checks Yet
Prince, Paris and Bigi Jackson are unquestionably positioned to inherit a major part of their father’s remaining fortune.
Jackson’s estate has generated more than $3.5 billion since his death, his music assets have commanded record-setting valuations, and “Michael” has now produced another billion-dollar commercial achievement tied to his legacy.
Still, none of those facts proves that each Jackson child is about to receive $1 billion.
For now, the accurate story may be less sensational but remains remarkable: Michael Jackson left behind an estate once overwhelmed by debt that has since generated billions, and his three children remain its central long-term family beneficiaries.
