*Ledisi was captivating in her special concert tribute to the late great jazz and blues legend Dinah Washington at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, presented by LA Phil. On Friday, October 3rd, 2025, Ledisi paid homage but made it clear that she would add her own style to the classic hits of Dinah Washington, and indeed she did.
Ledisi was mesmerizing in her renditions of “Do Nothing Til You Hear From Me,” “Teach Me Tonight,” “What A Difference A Day Makes,” “Don’t Go to Strangers,” and more. Music director Dr. Brandon Waddles joined her on “You Got What It Takes.”
In a word, Ledisi was delightful! She is the epitome of a contemporary vocalist rooted in the traditions of blues, gospel, R&B, and jazz. She puts the art in recording artist and is an all-around class act who bends and blends every genre that she encounters.

Ledisi’s LA Phil performance featured Dr. Brandon Waddles on piano and vocals, along with Brandon Rose on bass and Greg Clark, Jr. on drums. The evening also marked the debut of Ledisi’s new album For Dinah. Forthcoming tour dates include the Netherlands, Sweden, New York, Texas, and beyond. Click here for the full lineup.
Upcoming events at LA Phil include Mahler’s Resurrection conducted by Dudamel, the Gracias Gustavo Community Block Party, organist Paul Jacobs, and more.
