*Kimora Lee Simmons has reportedly spent close to five years occupying a $25 million Beverly Hills estate that her estranged husband bought using embezzled funds from 1MDB, the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund financial scandal.
According to The New York Post, court records indicate Simmons has not contributed any mortgage or rent payments throughout that stretch and is allegedly refusing to move out. The former supermodel maintains that her estranged husband, disgraced ex-banker Tim Leissner, transferred the seven-bedroom home to real estate moguls the Reuben brothers in an unauthorized and fraudulent transaction.
The ownership dispute has now dragged on for half a decade, with a trial-setting conference on the calendar for February 25.
Leissner, a German citizen, reported to a federal correctional facility in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on February 6, roughly eight years after admitting guilt in the massive $4.5 billion 1MDB scheme. While testifying as the prosecution’s central witness during the 2022 criminal trial of former Goldman Sachs colleague Roger Ng, Leissner confirmed under oath that $25 million in stolen Malaysian funds went toward acquiring the Beverly Park Circle property. Ng is presently serving a decade-long prison term.

No evidence ties Simmons to the 1MDB fraud, and Leissner was never compelled to give up the mansion. Sources told The Post that Malaysia could potentially pursue recovery of the home.
Meanwhile, the model-turned-fashion mogul and reality star shared with PEOPLE that she doesn’t “have a relationship really” with her kids’ dads. “Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time,” she explains. “I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”
Simmons is mother to daughters Ming, 25, and Aoki, 23, with ex-husband Russell Simmons; son Kenzo, 16, with actor Djimon Hounsou; and son Wolfe, 10, with Leissner. She also adopted her son Gary, 16, from Jamaica in 2020 and has a “bonus son,” Jayden, 19, who has lived with the family since fourth grade.
