*Joe Budden is pulling back the curtain on his recent weight loss, explaining how a combination of medication, fitness adjustments, and diet reshaped his health. The longtime rapper and media personality addressed the topic during a candid sit-down with Shannon Sharpe on “Club Shay Shay.”
Sharpe brought up speculation surrounding Ozempic, giving Budden the chance to set the record straight. “I’m not on Ozempic. I’m on Zepound … This week we’ll start my third week. I love it,” Budden said, per Complex. He shared that the results became apparent quickly once he began treatment.
Budden recalled noticing the change during a routine moment before the interview. “I told you I was trying to get dressed and put something on and come here and I couldn’t fit in shit. I lost a lot of weight,” he said. He estimated that his weight has now dipped below 220 pounds, marking a significant shift from where he was previously.
Still, Budden made it clear that the medication was not the starting point of his transformation. “But my weight loss started before I started taking the Zep. I did some dietary changes. I added some things to my workout routine. For December, I was like, ‘You know what? We’re going to rock and roll!’ So, I was losing weight already. This was just supposed to be like a extra oomph. That’s all it was supposed to be, and I’m probably under 220 right now. I was over 240.”

When discussing his end goal, Budden shared a specific range he feels comfortable maintaining. “I could see between 210 and 215. Anything less than that I wouldn’t feel comfortable being outside, just in case something got to go on,” he said.
He also highlighted that regular exercise and smarter food choices continue to be part of his daily life. “I’ve been working out,” Budden noted, adding, “I’m the healthiest right this second that l’ve probably ever been lifestyle-wise.”
