*Jim Jones is out to call Shannon Sharpe’s bluff when it comes to physical fitness.
Citing a recent appearance on “Nightcap,” the podcast Sharpe co-hosts with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Vibe reports things started off with discussing Jones’ claim that in 2025 he is a bigger artist and better lyricist than rap icon Nas.
As they went back and forth, the chat turned heated when Sharpe offered the Diplomats member a chance to settle their debate in the gym. Jones had no problem making the issue a public talking point on social media, with an Instagram video of him doing calisthenics to drive his point home about who’s in better physical shape.
“Ayo Shannon, did you workout today?” Jones asked. “Talking all that sh*t… weak a**, I do warrior sets. These pullups with resistance bands, bro. Can you even lift your own body weight? We can all lift a bunch of weight, but can you lift your own bodyweight, big fella?
“The world wants to know. When you gonna meet us in the gym?” he continued. “That’s what the world wants to know, when are you gonna meet us in the gym? Please tell me that. ‘Cause you really do this.”

Although Jones is catching flak for challenging Sharpe, Vibe noted that the NFL Hall of Famer was the first one to fire a shot. Jones came full circle with it by taking it upon himself to call Sharpe out on his offer.
“Since you like to talk that is, come see me in the gym! However you want to do it. Since you got money, put your money where your mouth is?” Sharpe said during the exchange to an unfazed. Jones.
“If you’re talking bout working out, I’ll burn you,” the “We Fly High” rhymesayer responded.
“You too small, you not even in my league,” Sharpe said, before Jones revealed he can go pound for pound with the 56-year-old three-time Super Bowl champ.

“I weigh 195 [pounds],” he revealed. Still, Jones’ weight wasn’t enough to impress Sharpe, who labeled the Bronx-born entertainer a “lightweight.”
In Sharpe’s eyes, Jones is more into the spectacle of the gym session than the bottom line.
“You about show, I’m about dough,” Sharpe told his 48-year-old rival.
Putting his own spin on it, Jones pointed out that there’s “no dough” without a show, while teasingly accusing Sharpe of being “scared.”
The former sports star is confident in his abilities, with proclaiming that Jones “ain’t on this level” and “ain’t no rapper beating me on nothing except the microphone.

Still, Jones sweetened the event with potentially bringing Ochocinco into the situation to referee a private workout session.
“Somebody tell @shannonsharpe84 don’t start ducking this challenge now,” Jones said, taking a cue after Sharpe hinted he prefers training privately. ”U gone talk like a pod caster or u gone walk Wht u talk cause my sneakers tied. U already challenged me in front th world might as well finsh th job champ.
“@ochocinco he said he don’t wanna do it in public tell let’s do it in private I know his rep as a athlete is on th line lol ? as long as your th witness. We don’t duck no challenges size don’t matter where im from run it. Young David to all Goliaths.”
