*Janet Jackson has sparked widespread anticipation among her fanbase after dropping cryptic hints about upcoming plans while simultaneously offering a personal look at her life as a mother. The entertainment icon used the turn of the year to signal something significant is on the horizon.
In a video message bidding goodbye to 2025, the singer stated: “I feel we had an incredible 2025, but I think everybody is in for a treat in 2026.” Her comments sparked speculation that she may be preparing to release new music. Her last studio album, “Unbreakable,” arrived over a decade ago in 2015.
Jackson also shared an intimate moment from her private life by posting about her son Eissa Al Mana’s 9th birthday celebration on Instagram. The January 3 post featured a video game-themed cake decorated with edible representations of “Minecraft” and “Astro’s Playroom.” Jackson wrote in her caption: “To my beautiful heart and soul, may God continue to bless you and keep you close ALWAYS. Happy Birthday Baby ???.”

The singer welcomed Eissa in 2017 at age 50 with ex-husband Wissam Al Mana. She typically shields her son from public attention but has been candid about how motherhood transformed her priorities. In a September 2024 Guardian interview, Jackson described motherhood as “the most important thing I’ve done.”
She elaborated on the experience: “… it’s had a beautiful impact on my life.”
Jackson added: “I wanted to have three children, but thought, ‘I should stop there, that’s probably all I can handle.’ Because you have to give all of yourself. Obviously, you have to work, but you don’t come first any more. Your life completely changes. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
