*Jake Paul’s anticipated matchup with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has been scrapped following new legal allegations against Davis.
The fight, planned as a Netflix headliner, was removed from the schedule after a civil suit filed in Miami accused Davis of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, and threatening to kill her. According to FOX News, the allegations encompass multiple incidents. Rossel claims Davis stormed into the gentlemen’s club where she worked, dragged her through several restricted areas, and assaulted her in a parking garage. She also alleges that Davis has “physically assaulted and choked” her four times during their five-month relationship. According to the filing, she is now experiencing PTSD and anxiety and is living with others for safety.
Most Valuable Promotions announced Monday night that the event would no longer proceed, though Paul intends to compete against another opponent before the year ends. After the cancellation, Paul condemned Davis, calling him “an actual walking human piece of garbage.”

Paul criticized Davis’ problematic behavior in a series of posts on his Instagram Stories. He wrote, “Working with him is an absolute nightmare. The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations and lawsuits. If you support this man you support the most vile sin a man can commit.”
Paul said he refused to give “this woman abuser a platform,” adding, “Sacrificing time with loved ones and kids just for this fool to lose his unintelligent mind again.”
Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, issued a formal statement regarding the decision. “Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” he said, adding that Jake Paul still plans to headline a major Netflix event in 2025.
“Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized,” Bidarian added.
As fallout continued, Paul mocked Davis online by posting an AI-generated video depicting himself kissing Davis. He captioned the clip: “Send to your lover,” accompanied by a heart emoji. Watch the clip below.
