*Jaden Smith outlined his intention to launch a permanent free meal hub on Skid Row in a video shared to TikTok.
The 27-year-old said the Los Angeles site would serve complimentary meals every day. According to Complex, the downtown neighborhood is home to close to 4,000 individuals experiencing homelessness. Smith explained that his aim extends beyond food distribution, envisioning a space that fosters opportunity and positivity.
“Honestly, my dream in life is to have a building on Skid Row where I can give out free meals every single day: breakfast, lunch, dinner,” he said in the clip. “I can do things inside of it—I can create jobs and, like, a good vibe. That’s my real dream, that’s my long term goal.”

His outreach efforts in the area began years earlier. Back in 2019, Smith introduced the “I Love You” vegan food truck, an initiative focused on providing plant-based meals to local unhoused residents. Although the mobile operation continues, he noted that a fixed location does not yet exist.
“We don’t have a brick and mortar store right now. We don’t have a place that we can be set up at all times, but I want to have that and I want the community to help us get there in the future, so that’s the plan,” he said.
Smith recently made headline over a viral moment during a Feb. 11 appearance at a screening for “Coulda Been Love” Season 2, an event hosted by Druski. While speaking with Complex’s Jillian Hardeman-Webb, the discussion around Skid Row shifted when she referenced his work with footwear designer Steven Smith.
Rather than address the topic, Smith walked away from the interview. As cameras continued rolling, Hardeman-Webb remarked, “I guess we’ll never find out.”
Smith later reposted the exchange on TikTok, writing, “When you’re supposed to be talking about feeding the Skid Row community but your homie @complex goes off script.”
