*In-N-Out Burger is preparing to open a new restaurant as part of Irvine’s massive Great Park redevelopment, one of the largest ongoing development projects in Southern California.
The new location, planned for 7900 Great Park Boulevard, will be situated within the sprawling Great Park project, a 1,300-acre transformation of a former Marine Corps air station into a destination that combines recreation, entertainment, retail, and public spaces, Secret Los Angeles reports.
According to project plans, the restaurant will include 3,860 square feet of indoor space and a 500-square-foot outdoor patio. The design also features a dual-lane drive-thru that merges into a single pickup lane, helping accommodate the high volume of customers typically associated with the fast-food chain. City planning documents indicate the drive-thru queue will have capacity for approximately 33 vehicles.
The restaurant will be located within The Canopy, a 12-acre retail and dining district planned for Great Park. The area is expected to bring together restaurants, shops, and everyday services in a walkable environment as the larger redevelopment continues to expand.
Great Park is being developed in phases and is expected to continue growing through 2028 and 2029. Future plans for the site include lakes, museums, commercial areas, and an outdoor amphitheater.
