*Halle Berry is proving that confidence is timeless. The 59-year-old Oscar-winning actress set social media ablaze over the weekend with a daring Instagram post celebrating the release of her new heist thriller, “Crime 101.”
In the series of photos, Berry posed in a doorway wearing nothing but a cozy red turtleneck sweater—emblazoned with a large white heart, perfect for the Valentine’s Day holiday—paired with strappy black heels and dark sunglasses. Her hair was styled in a sleek low ponytail with fresh bangs, completing a look that was equal parts cozy and glamorous.
“Is it a crime to have 9.2M Valentines? Then I’m guilty!” she captioned the post, shouting out her 9.2 million followers. “Thank you for the ❤️ and supporting @crime101film this weekend!”
The post sent fans into a frenzy, amassing thousands of comments praising her ageless appearance and daring style. “At 60, please let me be this fine,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Still 10 out of 10.”

Star-Studded Cast Anchors Amazon MGM Heist Film
The promotional push comes at a busy time for Berry, who recently announced her engagement to musician Van Hunt after nearly six years together. It also coincides with the release of “Crime 101,” which hit theaters on Feb. 13.
The film, an Amazon MGM Studios production directed by Bart Layton, follows a disciplined jewel thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose heists along a California freeway catch the attention of a disillusioned insurance broker (Berry) and a seasoned detective (Mark Ruffalo). The star-studded cast also includes Barry Keoghan.
Decent Opening Weekend Despite Blockbuster Competition
Despite an 87% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, the $90 million film had a modest opening weekend, landing at No. 3 domestically with $16.4 million, behind “Wuthering Heights” and “GOAT.”
Berry, however, remains focused on connecting with audiences. In a separate Instagram reel, she shared the film’s positive review score with fans, calling it “amazing news” and expressing gratitude to those who have seen and loved it.

Berry on Aging, Confidence, and Redefining Sexy at 59
In a recent interview with NPR, Berry addressed society’s fixation on a woman’s age, a theme that resonates with her character in the film.
“So many women feel that way, and we often feel that we age out of our positions,” Berry said, noting that her character begins “to question her worth and her value” as the workplace signals that “her time is up.”
She argued that aging “needs a rebrand,” calling it “a privilege to age.” When asked about her enduring sex appeal, Berry dismissed the notion that it is tied to youth.
“Sexy is a state of mind,” she told NPR. “It’s a feeling. It’s a being. It’s not so tied up to our physical self. I find many women in their 50s and 60s and 70s so sexy because they have confidence. They have grace. They know who they are. They have zero Fs to give. To me, that is sexy.”
With a blockbuster cast, a critical darling status, and its leading lady dominating headlines for both her personal life and her fearless fashion, “Crime 101” is hoping for strong legs at the box office in the weeks to come.
