*On September 20, 2025, Guitars Over Guns (GOGO) will host its 3rd annual “Band Together” fundraiser at Amazing Space in Chicago, aiming to transform lives through music and mentorship.
The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 207 S. Desplaines St and will feature live performances, a live auction, and raffles, all to support GOGO’s mission.
Since its founding in 2008, GOGO has impacted over 11,000 students across Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City through arts-based programs designed to foster creativity and resilience.

Special guests include Grammy-winning poet J. Ivy, Grammy and Academy Award-winning artist Rhymefest, and MTV host Dometi Pongo. A highlight of the evening will be the chance to bid on a lunch or dinner with Chicago native and award-winning artist Common.
The fundraiser underscores GOGO’s commitment to empowering youth through mentorship and high-quality arts instruction. Chicago Regional Director Add-2 (Andre Daniels), recently featured in USA Today, emphasized the role of music in building confidence, saying, “He sees hip-hop as a confidence builder.”
GOGO’s programs focus on mental health, wellness, and skill-building, helping students overcome challenges and envision brighter futures. Supported by the Obama Foundation, the organization creates a nurturing community through shared artistic experiences.
“Your presence is more than attendance. It’s an investment in the transformative power of Guitars Over Guns’ arts-based mentorship programs, helping young people build healthier habits, meaningful relationships, and a foundation for brighter futures,” said Add-2.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support GOGO’s work, where professional artists guide students to find their voices and grow into tomorrow’s leaders.
