*A tragic car accident in Little Rock, Arkansas has claimed the life of Elaine Womack, wife of Friendly Womack Jr., the brother of late R&B legend Bobby Womack. The crash has left the family grieving a sudden and devastating loss.
According to his grandson Martice, Friendly had been traveling with Elaine when the collision occurred at a Little Rock intersection last Friday night. The Pulaski Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies responded to the three-vehicle accident that evening. Martice told TMZ that Friendly walked away from the wreck without injury, but that Elaine did not survive.
Police discovered Elaine had died inside one of the vehicles. The remaining occupants of all three cars suffered minimal injuries. Authorities are continuing to investigate what caused the collision.

Bobby Womack began his career in the early 1950s as the lead singer of the family musical group the Valentinos and as Sam Cooke’s backing guitarist, launching a journey that would span more than 60 years. His 2009 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reflected decades of impact as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist across multiple genres including R&B, soul, funk, and blues.
Songs like “Across 110th Street” and “If You Think You’re Lonely Now” remain among his most recognized works, and he died in 2014 at age 70 after spending his final years contending with a series of serious health challenges.
