*Forbes has released its newest billionaire rankings, and the latest group of first-time entrants ranks as the second largest the list has ever seen.
A total of 390 people reached ten-figure wealth status over the past year. The collective fortune of this year’s newcomers stands at an estimated $755 billion, with each new entrant worth $1.9 billion on average.
Celebrity additions drew considerable attention this cycle. As we reported earlier, Beyoncé reached the billion-dollar mark on the strength of her record-breaking albums, sold-out tours, and an art collection built alongside billionaire husband Jay-Z. The milestone drew praise from her father and former Destiny’s Child manager, Mathew Knowles. Sharing his reaction publicly, he wrote, “I am so very proud of my daughter. She worked hard and it paid off!”

A major driver of Queen Bey’s rise has been the unprecedented success of her live performances. In 2023, Beyoncé’s 39-city Renaissance tour spanned 56 shows, bringing in more than $500 million in revenue. The tour became one of the most commercially successful live music events of the decade. Her impact extended beyond the concert stage and into theaters. “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” debuted at the top of the box office during its opening weekend in December 2023, generating $21 million in ticket sales.
Beyoncé continued that momentum with the “Cowboy Carter Tour,” which grossed more than $400 million. According to Pollstar, the tour stands as the highest-grossing country tour in history.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dre secured his spot on the Forbes list at an estimated $1 billion, years after the Apple acquisition of his Beats by Dre brand. Former tennis player Roger Federer’s $1.1 billion fortune is largely tied to his equity stake in Swiss shoe company On Running. Director James Cameron also enters the list at $1.1 billion, backed by a filmography that includes “Titanic,” “Avatar,” and the “Terminator” franchise.
No country generated more new billionaires than the United States, which contributed 106 names to this year’s list. AI entrepreneur Edwin Chen, founder of Surge AI, topped American newcomers at $18 billion, followed by Creative Planning’s Peter Mallouk at $16.1 billion. China added 55 new names, Germany 42, and India 30.
