*Don Lemon has spoken out after Nicki Minaj targeted him over his coverage of a protest in Minnesota. On January 18, the openly gay journalist posted a video from an event in the Twin Cities where unhinged liberal activists interrupted a church service.
“Minneapolis activists disrupted a church service where David Easterwood serves as a pastor, according to lawyer and activist @nekimal – Easterwood is also the acting field office director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in St. Paul, Minnesota,” Lemon shared on Bluesky alongside footage of the protest, per PEOPLE.
Minaj reacted on X, writing: “DON ‘COCK SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING. HOW DARE YOU? I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!” Her post included an image of a Chucky doll.

Lemon addressed Minaj’s post in a statement to TMZ. “I’m not surprised Nicki Minaj does not understand journalism and is weighing in on matters that are above her capacity. However, the more appropriate image for her post is a ‘Pick Me’ Doll,” he said.
Following the initial controversy, a fan account on X commented on the situation, suggesting that media outlets were exaggerating the story and calling the coverage careless and misleading. Minaj amplified the post by retweeting it and adding her own remarks, saying she deliberately phrased things to ensure the story would get attention. She also expressed satisfaction that the coverage had sparked outrage and hinted that reactions would continue to escalate.
“LOL!!! And I purposely wrote it that way b/c I knew that would be the only way to get the cock suckas to post about it,” the hip-hop star wrote. “They would’ve all collectively ignored the despicable behavior displayed by Lemon head. I’m glad they’re angry. They’re about to get angrier.”
