*Comedian Corey Holcomb is unapologetic about his controversial statement that he prefers dating women in poverty, calling it a “humanitarian” choice.
Speaking to TMZ, he defended his stance and compared it to women who choose to date wealthy men. Holcomb dismissed the criticism, noting that he sees himself as a supportive figure for women in need and made clear he has no interest in dating affluent women.
“There was a lot of people who were happy to feel good about what they do — ’cause that’s what I do. I put it out there. Dating women in poverty, that’s a humanitarian thing,” he said.
“Women in poverty are practical people. It’s amazing how people get so tight in their ass over stuff like this, man. When really, if you think about it, you’re not doing anything wrong,” Holcomb continued.
Holcomb likened himself to “Santa Claus in the flesh” for low-income women.
Watch him explain his dating preference in the clip below and why it’s “a great strategy for dating.”
