*Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC is speaking out after facing criticism tied to political donations and a social media post involving Michelle Obama. The singer addressed the situation in a video shared on March 28, aiming to clarify both incidents and her personal stance.
Chilli explained that a conspiracy video about Michelle Obama appearing on her page was unintentional. “I have the utmost respect and adoration for Michelle Obama and I would never say anything that is disrespectful to her or any woman,” she said, Complex reports. She described the repost as an accident, noting she is not very familiar with social media functions and mistakenly tapped the repost button while scrolling.
After becoming aware through calls and messages, she said she quickly removed the content. “I had no clue that something like this happened until I got all of the calls,” she said. “Of course, I took that down. I would never post anything like that. That’s not my character.”

The singer also addressed questions about her political donations, which records show were connected to Republican fundraising platforms during the 2024 election cycle. She stated that her intention was not to support a political campaign but to contribute to causes she believed in. “These are the things that support the veterans,” she claimed, adding that her support for those efforts has been ongoing.
In a follow-up Instagram post, Chilli made her position more explicit. “I WANT TO BE CLEAR: I am not MAGA and do not support any of the policies that are causing great harm to the American people,” she wrote. She explained that she did not fully review the details of the donations and believed they were tied to anti-human trafficking and veteran support initiatives.
Chilli also pointed to her history of supporting the Obamas, including voting for Barack Obama twice and contributing to his campaigns.
