*NFL star Cam Newton has expressed his desire to have more children with multiple women but has chosen to avoid marriage.
He explained his reasoning for wanting to remain single in a new interview with celebrity psychologist Dr. Cheyenne Bryant. During their chat, Newton revealed that he has eight children with three different women and wants to have more.
“A lot of people see my situation and think that I’m not ‘high-functioning’…I’m not married…I have beautiful children…my desire to get married is lower than my fear of divorce,” the former Carolina Panthers quarterback explained, The Jasmine Brand reports.
“So as you would say it, Dr. Bryant, I didn’t say it, you said it, and I would agree – I’m just taking my time,” he added.
Dr. Cheyenne Bryant responded by suggesting that he is not being slow but is instead being “highly proactive” and “selectively engaged” in his approach. Watch the moment via the X/Twitter clip below.

“You’re not taking your time, you’re being very action-based,” she said.
“You have 8 kids with three different women you are creating, procreating, and multiplying. That is not taking your time. You’re being very selectively active,” Dr. Bryant added.
“You are proactively choosing where you want to be active … you want to take your time in having a wife because of your own fears, but you will – and I say this with all respect and love…you will selfishly create broken families even if you’re in their life and a proactive father…these families are still broken,” Dr. Bryant explained. “Every child can not have papa in the house with them…So some child, if not all – all – will end up with some kind of deficit.”
Dr. Bryant noted that Newton’s “selfish actions,” driven by fear, contribute to the behavior being “low functioning.”
