*Busta Rhymes has reached a settlement agreement with his former assistant Dashiel Gables, bringing an end to a legal dispute that included allegations of assault, workplace abuse, and defamation. The resolution was reached through private mediation, and the terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, Digital Music News reports.
According to court correspondence cited in reports, attorneys for both sides stated that the parties are in the process of finalizing documentation and expect the settlement to be completed within roughly ten days. A judge has also requested that a formal motion confirming the agreement be submitted by June 1.
The case began in August 2025 when Gables filed a lawsuit seeking between $6 million and $7 million in damages. His claims included assault, battery, wage theft, and emotional distress tied to his time working for the rapper.

Gables alleged that the dispute escalated in January 2025 at a Brooklyn residence, where a confrontation over workplace conduct reportedly turned physical. He claimed he was punched in the face after an argument involving his use of a phone during working hours. He also alleged he was later terminated following the incident.
After the confrontation, Gables reported the incident to police. Busta Rhymes later surrendered to authorities and was charged with third-degree assault.
Rhymes denied the allegations and filed a countersuit in October 2025, accusing Gables of defamation and extortion and alleging harm to his public reputation. In response, Gables maintained that his claims are “matters of public interest,” noting that Rhymes is a public figure.
