*Amtrak’s Auto Train offers a convenient way for travelers to bring their vehicles along on a nonstop journey between Lorton, Virginia, and Sanford, Florida. The service caters to those seeking a hassle-free alternative to driving or flying along the East Coast.
Departing daily at 4 p.m. and arriving at 9 a.m. the next day, the 17-hour trip eliminates the need for an 800-mile drive on I-95. Amtrak’s Auto Train offers passengers standard coach seating or first-class bedrooms, with premium accommodations including priority boarding and complimentary meals. Fares start at $95 per person for coach seats, with additional costs for vehicles.
“This service provides a one-of-a-kind travel experience – skipping the hassles of driving over 800 miles on I-95 and instead riding the train with vehicles loaded on board,” Amtrak spokesperson Kimberly Woods told USA TODAY.
Check-in for Amtrak’s Auto Train starts daily at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. for motorcycles and 2:30 for other vehicles.
