*Kanye West (AKA Ye) posted a controversial message on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, making a disturbing revelation about his past.
In a tweet accompanying a video for his song “Cousins,” West shared an unsettling personal story, claiming to have had an incestuous relationship with his cousin until he was 14.
“This song is called ‘COUSINS’ about my cousin that’s locked in jail for life for killing a pregnant lady a few years after I told him we wouldn’t ‘look at dirty magazines together’ anymore,” he wrote.
Ye went on to explain that his sexual relationship with his cousin began when he was younger, citing a time when they looked at pornographic material together. He continued, “Perhaps in my self centered mess I felt it was my fault that I showed him those dirty magazines when he was 6 and then we acted out what we saw.” The tweet included a shocking statement: “My name is Ye and I sucked my cousins d–k till I was 14.”
This message follows a pattern of troubling behavior from West, who has made several erratic posts on social media. In 2022, his pearl-clutching statements, including wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt and making antisemitic remarks, led to him being banned from Instagram and losing major sponsorships, such as those with Adidas and Balenciaga. His X account was also deactivated (and later restored) earlier this year after a series of antisemitic tweets and declaring “I am a Nazi.”

In a separate post, the hip-hop star addressed his ongoing estrangement from longtime collaborator Jay-Z, revealing that a lyric from Jay-Z’s song “Jail” had deeply affected him.
The lyric refers to Ye’s vocal support for Donald Trump, which had caused tension between the two artists. West described the verse as “tearing” him to his soul, suggesting that Jay-Z was pressured into including the line.
“Why did Jay Z have to say ‘no red hat’ on Jail,” West wrote. “That sh-t tore me to my soul. We fought about it, and he told me either leave [his] line on there or take [his] verse off. Me wearing the red hat was the most stand out example of me going against ‘the program.’ Do you guys think he was instructed to say that?”
The father of four has also been dealing with multiple legal battles. In November, Ye was sued by a model who accused him of sexual assault during a 2010 music video shoot, and he faces additional lawsuits related to his now-defunct Donda Academy.
