*“This is his third project with me,” said songwriter/producer Jim Vierra about Grammy-nominated Ron Poindexter who is the vocalist on Jim’s new single “Jesus Lift Me Up” (Fifty Something Records).

Vierra added: “He not only sings it…he puts his take on it. We met last year I brought him on for two songs, ‘Just One Touch’ and ‘Holy of Holy.’ Then we started talking back and forth.”

Aside from writing Gospel/Christian songs, Vierra has a catalog of Country and Smooth Jazz songs. This time Vierra collaborates with Nigerian-born Gospel singer Ron Poindexter on “Jesus Lift Me Up.”

“I wrote the song off the tail of two other songs I had just finished,” Jim told me when I asked. “I had been praying about something to be a motivational song…that people will say, ‘That’s what I needed to hear today.’ It is not just a song, it’s a promise.”

Vierra explained that people often ask, “God where are you?”

Songwriter/producer Jim Vierra releases new single ‘Jesus Lift Me Up’ featuring vocals of Grammy-nominated Ron Poindexter.

The Nashville natives’ song reminds them that God is there with them “lifting them up” and through their situations and circumstances.

Ron brings that soulful voice to “Jesus Lift Me Up” worthy of the accolades he has garnered thus far – a Grammy nomination and two African Gospel Music and Media Awards.

“When I write music…I feel what the Lord gives me,” Jim explained as we ended our interview. www.JimVierra.com
