
*Los Angeles, CA – On March 1, 2025, Malik Books at Westfield Culver City will come alive with the spirit of literature and creativity as it hosts its second annual celebration of Black Children’s Book Week.
This event promises to be a fantastic gathering for families, educators, and young readers, featuring a remarkable lineup of Black authors who are dedicated to inspiring the next generation through their storytelling.
From 12 PM to 3 PM, attendees will be treated to a diverse array of activities designed to engage and empower young minds. This year’s event will spotlight talented authors including CJ Charles with “My Mother is a Superhero,” Tyonie Patterson with “Tamia T. Scott: MeMaw’s Garden,” and many more. Each author brings a unique story that explores themes of identity, empowerment, and the beauty of Black culture.
One of the highlights of the event will be interactive storytime sessions where authors will perform live readings. Children will be able to immerse themselves in narratives that reflect their own experiences and celebrate their heritage. This year, attendees can also look forward to book signings and a meet-and-greet with their favorite authors, adding a personal touch to their literary journey.
