*The highly anticipated war drama “Warfare,” produced by A24, held its premiere on March 27, 2025, at the DGA Theater Complex in Los Angeles.
The event was attended by the film’s star-studded cast, including Will Poulter, Kit Connor, Noah Centineo, and Charles Melton, along with co-directors Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza. As Mendoza introduced the cast before starting the film, he also introduced his fellow comrade Elliot Miller, played by Cosmo Jarvis, who received a standing ovation from the audience.
“Warfare” is based on a 2006 Navy SEAL mission in Ramadi, Iraq, and aims to deliver an unfiltered, intense depiction of combat. Ray Mendoza is not only the co-director of the film but also a Former Navy SEAL portrayed by D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai. Mendoza ensured authenticity by drawing from real-life experiences and training the actors in military tactics.
The cast underwent rigorous preparation, including immersive boot camps and combat drills, to embody their roles with precision.
That training also helped build the camaraderie you see on screen between the cast.
