*It’s a reimagining of Dracula’s Daughter dabbed with laughter! “Abigail” follows a crew of criminals who kidnap the ballerina daughter of a powerful netherworld boss. The under-creature horror flick features Alisha Weir as the nominative offspring of Mr. De Ville, Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, and Giancarlo Esposito.
We asked the film’s stars if they would rather be a vampire or a mob boss.
MB: I’d rather be a vampire. Vampires are cool. The drinking blood is not as cool, as the rest of it, like flying, the teeth, the living forever.
AW: [It would be fun] being a vampire…the flying and pirouetting. And being physically strong enough to be able to protect yourself.
WC: A mob boss has more control. I don’t have to stay up for eternity, when I’m done, doing what I do, I can exit. Plus, I like the sun.
KD: A vampire because I’m naturally nocturnal. Every day I struggle with fitness and eating well to prolong my life so I can know my daughters when they have white hair. So at least I would be able to achieve that with eternal life. And then I could turn everybody that I love.
KN: I think a vampire is a mob boss in a lot of ways, and you might have time to be a mob boss if you choose a vampire. So vampire has the longevity here to do whatever they want with their life. You can be whoever you want to be.
DS:…Except play golf. Vampires can play golf. Not in the daytime.
KN: You’re right.
DS: [I’d pick] mob boss because then I could play golf.
Universal Pictures “Abigail” hits theaters April 19.
