Our best-loved panda is back!
“Kung Fu Panda 4” rolls into theaters March 8, starring the voices of comedians Jack Black and Awkwafina. Black reprises his role as Po, the Dragon Warrior and Awkwafina brings the new character, Zhen, a corsac fox. DreamWorks Animation is adding another hilarious butt-kicking fury fun film to the franchise. Directed by Mike Mitchell (Trolls, Shrek Forever After) families will be entertained and enjoy the visually pleasing and comedic writing of “Kung Fu Panda 4.”
We talked to Black, Awkwafina and Mitchel about mentors and kung fu foxes.
Q: This time around Poe is becoming a spiritual leader, who do you look to for spiritual guidance?
Jack Black: I look to my wife Tanya [Haden]. She helps me whenever I feel stressed or anxiety-ridden. I tell her how I’m feeling and she has this magical power to lead me through those tumultuous times. I don’t know what I would do without her guidance.
Awkwafina: I like Andrew Huberman…[Huberman Lab Podcast] He breaks things down.
Mike Mitchell: My kids. I have two boys and you would think I would be mentoring them but they tell me what they want to see and what is interesting to them. As a filmmaker I’m trying to chase that down.

The film features the voice talent of returning stars Academy Award winner Dustin Hoffman as Kung Fu master, Shifu; James Hong (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Po’s adoptive father, Mr. Ping; Academy Award nominee Bryan Cranston as Po’s birth father, Li, and Emmy Award nominee Ian McShane as Tai Lung, Shifu’s former student and arch-nemesis. Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) joins the ensemble as a new character, Han, the leader of the Den of Thieves.
