*White women are mobilizing to support Kamala Harris in an upcoming virtual meeting on July 25, titled “White Women: Answer The Call!”
This event follows the successful “Win With Black Women” Zoom call, which saw 44,000 participants raise over $1 million for Harris’s campaign. White women want to replicate the success of this event and rally additional support for Harris.
In an Instagram post, author and podcaster Glennon Doyle wrote, “On Sunday night, 44,000 women gathered with @winwithblackwomen to support Kamala Harris, and raised over $1 million. It’s our turn to show up. So that’s what we’re doing.”
In a separate post, Doyle provided the registration link, noting that “All Are Welcome To Attend.”
No speakers have been confirmed for the call yet.
Around 47% of white women reportedly voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election, while only 45% supported his opponent, Hillary Clinton. If elected, 59-year-old Harris would become the first female U.S. President.
Meanwhile, female Trump supporters in Wisconsin are worried Vice President Kamala Harris could win. Speaking to NBC’s Elise Jordan, one woman said, “I think she’s going to go for the minority, female, and younger voters.”
Another woman added, “Everyboidy’s excited about her and that scares me. Trump has to reconfigure where he’s going and how they’re going to outsmart her.”
One woman in the group conversation with Jordan said Harris “doesn’t even know what’s going on at the border.”
She added, “That’s what she was supposed to be doing and in charge of. As a schoolteacher, if I did not do what I was supposed to be doing, you’d better believe my job would be in jeopardy. Not only was her job not in jeopardy, she was just handed a promotion!”
When Jordan asked, “When do you think America will have a female president?” One of the women repled, “When there is a competent one.”
