*Tyrese Gibson announced on Instagram over the weekend that he has “retired” from social media.
“I’m gonna pray I’m gonna turn my comments off because I don’t want to be reminded of this very nasty and unbearable narrative that REAL MEN don’t cry ?,” he captioned a montage video of him at the premiere of his latest film, “1992,” Complex reports.
Gibson continued, “REAL MEN these days are constantly being emasculated and someone has said lately even have the nerve to put the word TOXIC in front of MASCULINITY.. yes, the epic failure of trying to make me feel bad about literally being A MAN, an [ALPHA] MALE, protective or OUTspoken FATHER or HEAD of my HOUSEHOLD…”
The announcement comes a week after the actor/singer slammed his ex-wife Samantha Lee’s push to increase her monthly payments to $40,000.
“I just got another letter from her lawyers requesting that I send over all of my tax returns and all of my bank statements because she’s trying to get $20,000, and I think they’re trying to take it up to like $40[k],” Gibson previously shared with his fans and supporters, The Jasmine Brand reports.

“They’ve been looking at all of my movies, all of the concerts and shows that I’m doing… and they’re over there like bloodsucking lawyers, rubbing their hands. Samantha is doing the same thing,” he added.
Tyrese voiced his frustration over the demands, noting that Lee, who divorced him four years ago, is financially secure.
“She divorced me 4 years ago, and she makes over $100,000 a year. Close to 150, 160 at this point, because of all of her Instagram and social media,” Gibson wrote.
“They [Samantha’s lawyers] asked her to give them $5,000 because she married a celebrity, a high-net-worth individual, and they’re over there rubbing their hands, banking on a pot of gold,” he continued.
In his recent Instagram post, Tyrese wrote that he plans to never “put up another post” about Lee, with whom he shares a 6-year-old daughter. He also noted that men “cry and have feelings TOO!”
