She Back! BET+ Confirms ‘The Ms. Pat Show’ S2 Comeback on May 23 – Renews ‘Ms. Pat Settles It’ | VIDEOs

*Comedian, Actress, and Producer Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams extends her partnership with BET as “The Ms. Pat Show” returns for a fourth season on BET+, on May 23, as the hit courtroom series “Ms. Pat Settles It,” is renewed for a second season on BET (linear).

The projects serve as anchors in Williams’ multi-year overall deal with BET Media Group under which she will produce and perform in new series and other projects across the network.

“The Ms. Pat Show,’ which lifts from Williams’ life experiences covered in her memoir “Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat,” tells the story of a former drug dealer and convicted felon turned suburban mom. An updated version of the traditional TV comedy format, the series portrays a modern, multi-generational African American family navigating life’s twists and turns against the backdrop of current cultural chaos with an unfiltered realness. Complete with R-rated language and controversial episode topics including non-binary pronouns, abortion, black hair, school shootings, drug addiction, racism, and child abuse, “The Ms. Pat Show” is a rethinking of the American sitcom.

Since its launch in August 2021, the series has resonated with fans and critics alike and has been praised for being unapologetically real, unapologetically Black, and unapologetically hilarious. The series which hails from Imagine Television and Lee Daniels Entertainment, and is executive produced by Brian Grazer, Lee Daniels, and Jordan E. Cooper, alongside Williams, earned two consecutive Emmy nominations for Mary Lou Belli, for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series (2022 and 2023).

In season one of “Ms. Pat Settles It,” Ms. Pat assembled a jury comprised of her closest friends, family members, celebrity guest stars, and comedians and they tackled real cases where genuine relationships hung in the balance.

In the second season of “Ms. Pat Settles It,” each case will continue to revolve around family and relationship dynamics. Viewers will witness everyday people grappling with real-life problems who willingly accept Ms. Pat’s verdict as binding. Each case traverses the fine line between intense drama and uproarious comedy, mirroring Ms. Pat’s own life experiences. The “Jury of Her Peers” will preside over a wide array of cases, encompassing financial disputes, romantic entanglements, roommate quarrels, neighborly conflicts, and a myriad of other issues. Ms. Pat and her jury continue their mission to set things right. Although real cash settlements are at stake, the core of every case is an underlying issue that has driven the litigants to their breaking points.

Ms. Pat serves as executive producer on both series with Jordan E. Cooper, Natalie Berkus, Brain Grazer, Lee Daniels, Deborah Evans, Jon Radler, and Patrick Walsh also executive producing “The Ms. Pat Show.” “Ms. Pat Settles It” is executive produced by Sallyann Salsano, Dave Hamilton, Ebony McClain, and Frank Miccolis for 495 Productions.

In addition to her two hit TV shows, Ms. Pat has long been a favorite with standup critics and fans. She is currently on her Ya Girl Done Made It standup tour which has been selling out theatres nationwide since its launch in 2023. Her hour special Y’all Wanna Hear Something Crazy?, which The New York Times called “raucous” and “superb,” is currently streaming on Netflix. She can also be seen acting in the upcoming feature film “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead,” along with recent appearances in “Zoey 102” and “Drugstore June.”
