*Teyana Taylor called out TMZ for the outlet’s “misleading headlines” about her pending divorce from former NBA player Iman Shumpert.
“If you’re going to keep leaking my documents, show it all [and] come correct,” tweeted Taylor after TMZ published an article titled “Iman’s leaving me, kids in the cold! Says he cut house utilities.”
In response to the implication that she and her two daughters lack utilities, the singer/actress clarified that “me and my kids are never going to be sitting ducks.”
“Stop taking bits and pieces and putting 10s on 2s! I’ve been very graceful, cordial and protective of all parties involved in this whole process,” Taylor told TMZ directly in a statement shared online, Revolt reports.
“Sadly, that energy has not been reciprocated at all!” she added.
We reported earlier that Taylor filed for divorce late last year, and in the Georgia-filed legal docs, she outlined what went wrong in the couple’s 7-year union. The demise of their marriage includes the fact that Taylor secretly filed for divorce in 2022 but changed her mind and withdrew the filing the next day, reports TMZ.
In her filing, she is seeking primary physical custody of their two kids, as well as joint legal custody and child support.
Taylor, 32, accuses Shumpert, 33, of being jealous about her fame and feeling insecure about being good enough for her.
In the filing, Taylor said her estranged husband was prone to “treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.” This reportedly included him “being extremely emotionally and mentally abusive” towards her, exhibiting “cruel treatment and selfishness,” and crashing her Rolls-Royce only to flee the scene, evading a second arrest for DUI.
Taylor told fans on social media that “infidelity ain’t one of the reasons for our departure.”
“We are still the best of friends, great business partners, and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children,” she added.
