*NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league’s partnership with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation will continue despite a civil lawsuit filed against the rapper.
The lawsuit accuses JAY-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000. The NFL partnered with Roc Nation in 2019, with the company serving as its “live music entertainment strategist.” Since then, the company has produced the annual Super Bowl halftime show.
“We are aware of the civil allegations and Jay Z’s really strong response to that,” Goodell said at a news conference after a league meeting in Irving, Texas, NBC News reports.
“We know, obviously, that litigation is happening. But from our standpoint, our relationship is not changing with them, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl,” he added.
The NFL’s partnership with Roc Nation was extended in October.

“I think they’re getting incredibly comfortable with not just the Super Bowl but other events that they have advised us on and helped us with,” Goodell said of Roc Nation.
“They’ve been helpful in the social justice area to us on many occasions. They’ve been great partners that have provided a lot of value to us,” he continued.
Meanwhile, JAY-Z is taking legal action against attorney Tony Buzbee for allegedly pressuring potential clients to make false claims in lawsuits.
Buzbee’s latest filing alleges that the hip-hop star sexually assaulted a teenage girl at an afterparty in New York City following the MTV Video Music Awards. The lawsuit was originally filed in October, and initially included Combs as a defendant and referred to JAY-Z as “Celebrity A.” However, on December 8, the case was refiled to identify him as a defendant. Satterthwaite criticized Jay for responding to the allegations with “deflection and attacks.”
JAY-Z strongly denied the accusations in a statement Sunday.
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” he said. “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
