*Comedic actor Marlon Wayans appears to not have anything exciting to talk about as of late, which is why he continues to go on and on about his transgender child. After all, trans-ness is a hot topic among liberal extremists at the moment.
Last year, Wayans revealed that his eldest child Kai was born female but now identifies as a male with They/Them pronouns. Since making the announcement, Wayans continues to get candid about how the experience has impacted him.
Most recently, he appeared on “The Jennifer Hudson” show and said: “I went through the five stages of grief to get to the beautiful, magical place called acceptance,” Wayans explained, noting that Kai is “the same child they was before — they just got a beard now.”
In a new interview on Neal Brennan’s podcast, Wayans further elaborated on his journey to acceptance of his child’s gender transition.
“I tried to hypnotize that b—-,” he said before laughing, per RollingOut. “And I protested against it and I don’t say that with pride. I look back on those actions and I’m ashamed. I was embarrassed the moment I was forced to look in the mirror. I was embarrassed.”
Wayans also admitted that he administered “sanctions,” including withholding Kai’s allowance. But “[Kai] was like, ‘So what? F— it; I’ll starve,’” Wayans recalled on the podcast. “Nothing was working. This is what they wanted to do. I always said I want my kids to be happy. In order to be happy, you’re not gonna please everybody.”
“It’s not on us to judge anybody, right? … I tell my child, listen, I’ma have my jokes … They know my heart and they trust that I’m gonna tell a great story,” he added.
Wayans, who is also dad to sons Shawn, 22, with ex Angela Zackery, and daughter Axl, 18 months with ex Brittany Moreland, previously told PEOPLE that he went “from defiance to acceptance” of Kai’s gender identity.
When Marlon appeared on The Breakfast Club last year, he discussed his own “transition” to accept Kai’s gender-bender lifestyle.
“I talk about the transition, not their transition, but my transition as a parent going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance,” Wayans said at the time. “And I think there’s a lot of parents out there that need to have that message, and I know I’m dealing with it. It was a very painful situation for me,” he added.
