*Katt Williams will stream a live comedy special on Netflix this spring titled “Woke Foke.”
“This is the truth right here,” Williams tells the audience in the trailer. “I don’t give a f**k… It’s gonna be some s**t!”
Troy Miller helms “Woke Foke,” and it will stream live during the “Netflix is a Joke Comedy Fest” in Los Angeles, which runs from May 1 to May 12. The performance will be filmed at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Netflix said Williams will “let loose in real time” during the hour-long set. The project marks Williams’ third comedy special for the streaming platform.
“Woke Foke” streams live on Netflix on May 4 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET. The comedy special comes four months after Williams’ controversial appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.
Last month, Sharpe disclosed that his interview with Katt earned him more money than any NFL season.
“Everybody was talking ’bout, ‘well how much money [he] made doing the Katt Williams interview;’ I just got the check,” Sharpe told Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson during an episode of their Nightcap podcast, Vibe reports.
“Put it like this here, I made more money on Katt Williams alone than I made in any year I played in the NFL.”
Vibe reports that Sharpe “earned an NFL career-high of $5 million in 2000 during his first season with the Baltimore Ravens,” the outlet writes. Sharpe didn’t disclose the exact figure earned from the controversial sit-down, but hinted that the total surpasses at least $6 million.
“So whatever you think I made, 3x it. So if you think I made five hundred thou, 3x it. If you think a million, 3x it,” he continued. “If you think I made $2 million, 3x it.”
We reported previously that the bombshell interview garnered over 46 million views in 10 days across social media and over a million audio downloads. Sharpe’s social media following also significantly increased due to “The Katt Williams Effect.”
