*Ice Spice is tightening her grip on the entertainment industry with plans to invade the big screen. The Jasmine Brand reports the 24-year-old rapper will make her acting debut in Spike Lees Americanized version of the Japanese crime thriller “High and Low.” Featured with Ice Spice will be Oscar winner Denzel Washington, who will star in the film.

At this time, not much is known about the “Munch” rhymesayer’s role in “High and Low. News of her involvement comes after Apple Films’ recent announcement that the feature is currently in production.

Based on the 1963 classic from filmmaker Akira Kurosawa’s adaption of author Ed McBain’s novel ‘King’s Ransom.’

The Jasmine Brand detailed that the original ‘High and Low’ centers on a wealthy shoe executive and what happens after the accidental kidnapping of his chauffeur’s son stands in the way of him gaining corporate control.

Once tragedy strikes, the businessman must decide between using his financial power to obtain company leadership or paying the ransom for the abducted child.

For those keeping score, Lee’s forthcoming version of “High and Low” marks the fifth collaboration between the director and Washington. The last time the duo teamed up was in 2006’s “Inside Man.”

For “High and Low,” Lee does triple duty helming the movie as well as co-writing it with Alan Fox and serving as an executive producer through his 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks imprint.

Ice Spice’s entry into the world of movies is the latest in a string of achievements since coming on the scene in 2002. Armed with hits like “In Ha Mood,” “Boy’s a Liar” and the Nicki Minaj-assisted “Princess Diana,” the Grammy-nominated entertainer shows no sign of falling off anytime soon.
