*Rapper Chingy was featured on Sunday’s episode of TV One’s hit series, “Unsung,” and he recalled how Sidney Starr, a transgender social media model, lied and derailed his career.
You might remember the viral photo from 2009 featuring Chingy posing with Starr. As Ice Cream Convos reports, Starr would go on to falsely claim she and Chingy dated “on and off” and were involved in a sexual relationship.
Starr’s devious assertion about dating them tarnished Chingy’s career and reputation.
“I was in the works with Interscope on a record deal,” Chingy said during the “Unsung” episode.
“That lie was so big on social media I lost a whole record deal and so much other stuff from that,” he added.
“And I said something about it then. But, for some reason, nobody took my side, and everybody just ran with that…without talking to me,” the hip-hop star told TV One.
Starr later confessed to fabricating her sexual with Chingy.

“Couple of months later, same individual go crying on camera talking about how they lied for 15 minutes of fame because they wanted a reality show,” Chingy said.
“These things that they wanted happened, while things I was doing…died. It was a heavy blow. It took years to recover from. I’m talking about years, probably over a decade.”
