*Tristan Thompson has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers and the move brings him closer to his baby mama Khloe Kardashian.
The Lakers also signed guard Shaq Harrison ahead of their final game of the regular season, CBS News reports. As a potential backup for Anthony Davis and Jarred Vanderbilt, Thompson will provide additional depth at the center position, PEOPLE reports. Thompson last played for the Chicago Bulls in 2021-22.
Thompson will be reuniting with Lakers star LeBron James, as the two won the Cavaliers’ first-ever championship against the Golden State Warriors together.
Kardashian showed her support of Thompson signing with the Lakers by liking an announcement post on the team’s Instagram pages, Yahoo reports.

Thompson and Kardashian have been hanging out again now that he’s back in Los Angeles, according to multiple reports. In March, Thompson and Kardashian both attended the 40th birthday party of her longtime friends, Malika and Khadijah Haqq, according to TMZ. We reported previously that Kardashian and Thompson were secretly engaged for nine months but she allegedly broke it off after he fathered a child with another woman.
During an episode of “The Kardashians” on Hulu, Khloe told her sister Kim Kardashian that when Thompson initially proposed to her in December 2019, she turned him down, PEOPLE reports. She accepted his second proposal in February 2021.
The on-again/off-again couple welcomed daughter True in April 2018. They conceived their second child, a boy, via a surrogate. In 2021, when news broke that Thompson fathered a baby with another woman, Khloe reportedly called off the engagement.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that Thompson is trying to win Kardashian back as they co-parent their two kids.
“Tristan still loves Khloe and would love to be with her again,” the source said. “He’s doing whatever he can to try to prove himself to Khloe and her family.”
