Pastor Mike Jr. Talks His New Album ‘Impossible’ | EUR Video Exclusive

*From the pulpit to being lit, in the Christian way of course, Pastor Mike Jr. has released his new album “Impossible,” and EUR caught up with him to speak about the exciting project!

Pastor Mike Jr., also known as PMJ, has gained popularity over the last few years for his work as a Pastor and an artist. Since releasing his first album “Live Free,” he has had millions of streams, and last year he won six Stella Awards. I was able to have an early listen to the album and it spoke to all versions of me. It spoke to the part of me that loves a good hip-hop beat to vibe to. It spoke to the little girl in me from the south side of Chicago that grew up on old-school gospel.

“I wanted to approach this album the same way they approach Matthew, Mark Luke, and John. It’s the same message told four different ways,” Pastor Mike Jr. told EUR. “So for me, I wanted something for everybody.”

The 15-track album definitely has something for everyone. He describes the album as trap, contemporary, and classic. I mentioned being from Chicago because if you know, you know. Back in the day, Chicago gospel choirs were instrumental in the gospel music scene. The classic gospel he spoke of brings a sense of nostalgia for me and I know it will for others as well.

As I mentioned, PMJ’s popularity has grown within the last few years. Just starting his music career in 2019, I asked him for advice for those who feel like they may be running out of time to fulfill their dreams.

“For me, I know one of my biggest things was I wanted to do it young. That’s not always good, you have to trust God’s timing,” said PMJ.

Pastor John believes if he had stepped into his success when he was younger, he would have gotten caught up in that success. He more than likely would have been clout-chasing instead of letting God lead. There are a lot of times we feel like we are behind but sometimes God has us in waiting.

PMJ said God instructed him to wait 10 years to release his music and look at him now. He is the Lead Pastor at Rock City Church and his music has over 60 million streams!

This is Pastor Mike Jr.’s winning season so it’s only fitting that his first single is titled “Winning” and his album drops on 2-3-23! Those are Jordan’s (Michael Jordan) numbers. To reiterate, it is a WINNING SEASON!
