*Lizzo’s legal team filed a motion to dismiss the discrimination lawsuit her former tour designer made.

We reported previously that Asha Daniels, 35, filed the suit in September in a Los Angeles court against the singer and supervisors of Big Grrrl Big Touring for sexual and racial harassment and disability discrimination.

As TMZ reports, Daniels says she joined Lizzo’s tour in 2023 to work in wardrobe and was subjected to inappropriate working conditions, including retaliation and assault.

According to the legal docs, Daniels, a Black woman, claims she was hired by Amanda Nomura, a member of Lizzo’s team who allegedly made “racist and fatphobic comments — allegedly calling Black women on the tour “dumb” “useless” and “fat,” TMZ writes.

Daniels alleges that the overall tour experience left her with ongoing anxiety and PTSD. She also suffers from “migraines, ocular distortions, brain fog and fatigue,” per TMZ.

Lizzo’s attorneys are pushing back against the “disgruntled” woman’s claims. People reports that they want the judge to dismiss Daniels’ lawsuit, calling it “meritless and salacious.”

Lizzo’s attorneys claim the plaintiff “failed to perform the work that she was assigned and, eventually, just played hooky and refused to show up for work.”

Daniels was ultimately terminated after three weeks on the job. People reports that Lizzo’s attorneys accuse her of “abandoning her post” during Lizzo’s tour stop in Paris.

According to the publication, Daniels’ Los Angeles attorney, Ron Zambrano, said the motion was “another Hail Mary by Lizzo’s team to try to shift blame to the victims, as she has done to the three other plaintiffs who have sued her for similar allegations of harassment, disability discrimination and retaliatory termination.”

Zambrano added, “Lizzo and her lawyers can continue trying to rationalize her illegal and wretched conduct but we remain committed to seeking justice for our clients, and look forward to our day in court where Lizzo can explain her behavior in a public forum.”
