*Lord Have mercy! What in the world do we have here? Well, let this sink in. A 24-year-old Black woman in Mississippi married a White man who is 61 years OLDER than her. But that’s not all.
Miracle Pogue says she’s ready to start a family with her new husband … despite the fact he’s all dried up lookin’ and older than Methuselah. OK, we jest; he’s not THAT old. BUT … he is a DECADE OLDER than her own grandfather!
Pogue, 24, met Charles Pogue, 85, while working at a laundromat in Starkville in 2019. Their meeting turned into a friendship that turned romantic a year later. Charles proposed in February 2020, and the couple went on to wed last summer.
“I found out in conversation when we asked each other our date of birth and he said he was born in 1937,” is what Miracle told Kennedy News about the time she learned about her husband’s advanced age. “I never even placed his age, we just wanted to see how it went. I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for him. I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good,” she added. “He’s always up and active.”

PS: We sincerely hope Mr. Pogue is in the best shape (physically and mentally) he can possibly be. We can only hope his 86th birthday is next week or next month at most. 🙂 Otherwise, we don’t like his chances of seeing 86. On the other hand, we could be dead wrong (pun not …anyway) ’cause, lest we forget, HER name is MIRACLE.
