*Ice-T is speaking out about his bond with his 7-year-old daughter Chanel with wife Coco Austin.
“I think the difference with Chanel and my other kids is I’m very conscious of this baby,” he admitted in a May 10 interview on the “That Moment with Daymond John” iHeartPodcast, Today.com reports.
The “Law & Order: SVU” actor (born Tracy Lauren Marrow), has two other children from previous relationships –daughter LeTesha Marrow, 47, and 31-year-old Tracy Marrow Jr. AKA Ice.
Ice said he has a deeper connection with Chanel than he had with his other children when they were young.
“I was ripping and running, so it was presents over presence. I wasn’t there,” he said, noting that his growing hip-hop career kept him “distracted” from parenting his two oldest children when they were younger.
“My son, Ice, happened right when I was becoming Ice T. I’d never been famous before,” Ice added.
Now at 65 years old, Ice-T is “comfortable” and “in a cruise pattern,” he said.
“I was there when Coco was pregnant. I went to the hospital, and (Chanel) now still sleeps in the bed with us,” he added. “I’m so much more connected to her than my other kids … it’s been a beautiful thing.”
As People reports, Ice-T said raising Chanel with Austin, “made me want to live forever.”
“It made me create new goals. It’s the best gift I could ever get,” he added.
