*Florida A&M Law Alumna Zsa’queria Martin recently went viral after passing the New York Bar Exam “with a score high enough to waive into any UBE jurisdiction!” she shared on social media.

This means she can practice law in any of the 41 states under UBE jurisdiction, MadameNoire reports. The Uniform Bar Exam is administered nationwide and “is designed to test knowledge and skills that every lawyer should be able to demonstrate prior to becoming licensed to practice law,” the official website states. “It results in a portable score that can be used to apply for admission in other UBE jurisdictions.”

Candidates who score at least 270 out of 400 can transfer their test scores to any state under UBE jurisdiction.

“I made it over the minimum threshold to be able to transfer my score into different UBE jurisdictions,” Martin, a 2023 FAMU College of Law graduate, told MadameNoire.

“So, for example, Texas is a UBE state,” she said, per the outlet. “I can transfer my score to that state and do their processes to apply for admission to that state.”

Martin served as Miss Florida A&M Law while attending the school and was a “part of many organizations such as the Black Law Students Association, Women’s Law Caucus, Stonewall LGBQ Law Association, Marshall Bell Law Society, Moot Court, and the Advocacy Mock Trial Team,” per Clutch.

“During Thanksgiving, I would pass out turkeys in my hometown or raise money to feed the homeless in Atlanta, she told MadameNoire. “It is a blessing. I always talk about my grandfather because when I first started getting into activism, he would always call me ‘chili pepper.’ He told me, ‘You are so hot and so spicy, but I know you’re gonna go out there and do your thing.”
