*HGTV’s breakout hit “Married to Real Estate” is back for season two with power couple Egypt Sherrod and her husband, Mike Jackson. Sherrod brings her expertise as a real estate broker and designer combined with Jackson’s building skills.

EURweb’s Jill Munroe spoke exclusively with the compelling couple who have garnered 19 million season-one viewers. Egypt and Mike shared their positive perspective on running successful property businesses while, at the same time, maintaining a home and family. Sherrod noted that season two was very different for them.

“In season one. We weren’t really having fun because we were working our tails off. With a new show, you don’t know what will happen. We were taking our family on TV, our business on TV. And we were nervous. If Mike and I were being 100% honest, we worried about what that would look and feel like for us—but excited at the same time,” she explained.

“Now that we’re on the other end of that, knowing that 19 million people want that. It helped us. Now just out in our daily lives, we’re in a supermarket, and someone comes up to us and says I love your show. We appreciate going into season two. And we want to knock it out of the park with more incredible design, construction, and laughs.”

Mike Jackson -Egypt Sherrod-Married to Real estate
As seen on ‘Married to Real Estate,’ hosts Mike Jackson and Egypt Sherrod work together to finish cabinets and design elements in a completely renovated kitchen for a homeowner.

She continued, “Mike and I have built a one-stop shop for real estate, renovation, and design—and this is only the beginning,” said Sherrod. “Our goal for every project is to ensure we embrace the client’s vision and needs while marrying high design and function, so the result exceeds their every expectation.”

“Working with your spouse has its challenges, but we wouldn’t trade it for the world,” said Jackson. “Egypt and I are all in to give families beautiful homes with added value, and our willingness to compromise along the way makes us a great team both on the job and at home.”

On the home front, the couple says that they make sure to intentionally set time asked for themselves both as a couple and a family. Jackson explained, “We make it a purpose to have a couples date night so that we can continue to love and like each other. As a family, we continue to make play dates and time on the weekend intently, however short or long it may be. When we’re traveling, we want to make sure we don’t forget the real purpose of continuing to grow as a family.”

New episodes of “Married to Real Estate” air Thursdays at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV and are available to stream the same day on discovery+.
