*2024 is looking to be a fun year for DJ Cassidy. The 42-year-old music spinner will extend his Pass the Mic Live! Tour with new dates and locations. Among the stops for the outing will be the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, and the Smart Financial Centre in Houston, Texas.
The locations are first-time destinations for the Pass the Mic Live! Tour, which is set to begin in February 2024.
Performers lined up for the trek include 112, 702, Adina Howard, After 7, Brownstone, Carl Thomas, Case, Christopher Williams, Donell Jones, Gina Thompson, H-Town, Jade, Jagged Edge, Jeff Redd, Montell Jordan, Mya, Shai, Shanice, Soul For Real, Sunshine Anderson, and Troop, along with special guests El Debarge and Teddy Riley, according to Vibe.
For DJ Cassidy, the extended Pass The Mic Live Tour presents a chance to take the stage with his “R&B heroes” for a great night of entertainment.
“Uniting twenty-three of my R&B heroes for two epic celebrations of love will be a dream come true,” Cassidy said. “Their prolific songs have had a profound influence on not only the way I deejay but the way I curate the sound of celebration. I am truly honored to be sharing a stage with so many iconic singers, all whose records have shaped how we sing, dance, and party for so many years.”
Partnering with the Pass the Mic Live! Tour will be the Black Promoter’s Collective. Each lineup for the two one-night-only events will focus on highlighting R&B acts that transformed the sound and style of the culture on a global scale, according to a press statement.
“Collaborating with DJ Cassidy has truly been a highlight of my career,” Black Promoters Collective President Shelby Joyner stated. “The BPC has hit a home run with Cassidy, achieving a perfect score with two sold-out shows, including one at the prestigious Radio City Music Hall. Anticipation is high for Greensboro and Houston, where we fully expect to replicate this success with two more iconic sold-out experiences.”
