*Snoop Dogg‘s daughter Cori Broadus is opening up about her lupus battle and taking a holistic approach to help her symptoms.
“I’ve been good, better than I’ve ever been,” Broadus, 24, said in a new interview with People about going “all-natural” amid her difficult health journey.
“I stopped taking all of my medication like five months ago,” Broadus said. “I’m just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, teas.
“I started working out, drinking lots of water,” she added. “So now I think my body’s like, okay, this is the new program and she’s getting used to it.”
Broadus was diagnosed with lupus at age 6 and said years of taking medications daily made her “feel like I was going insane.”
“I’ve had medication since I was 6 years old, depending on these drugs all my life. So I wanted better for myself,” she shared with People. “I wanted to change because it just became a lot. I’m only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills every single day. So I kind of just went cold Turkey.”
In 2021, Broadus opened up about her mental health journey after a suicide attempt. She revealed in an Instagram caption that “at one point I tried to end my life.”
“You gotta just keep pushing through the bulls—,” she added.
As for her health today, Broadus knows there are still more lifestyle changes she should make.
“When you have lupus, that’s one of the number one things. You have achy joints, you have arthritis. And now I’m like, damn, I’m not complaining about my knees, my feet, my hands, my back,” she shared with People.
In addition to her natural remedies, Broadus regularly attends the gym with her fiancé Wayne, working with a personal trainer.
“My body is not achy,” she explained. “When you have lupus, that’s one of the number one things. You have achy joints, you have arthritis. And now I’m like, damn, I’m not complaining about my knees, my feet, my hands, my back.”
She added, “It’s continuously a learning process because there’s so much more I could be doing.”
