*LaTocha, a big name in the secular music industry, started the year on a high note after being signed by Motown Gospel, which is a division of Capitol CMG/Capitol and Universal Music Group. Motown Gospel itself first made the announcement of the award-winning artist’s signing to an exclusive license agreement. She has been signed via her label “Made Girl Music.”
LaTocha’s fame grew when, as LaTocha Scott, she became a member of Xscape, a multi-platinum-selling R&B group. She provided leads on some of the group’s big hits, such as “Who Can I Run To” and “The Arms of the One Who Loves You.”
LaTocha began interplaying music and faith at Mt. Olive Church of God in Holiness, in her hometown of College Park, GA. She hasn’t looked back ever since.
The powerhouse songstress has also never departed from her roots, even when fame came calling when she was in the biggest girl groups in R&B history.
“It has always been a passion of mine to do inspirational music,” says the R&B singer. “It has been my foundation, and that is very evident, even when I sing R&B music. I can’t escape that.”

Monica Coates, Co-Executive Director, of Motown Gospel, says a hallmark of LaTocha’s successful career has been her love for gospel music and her strong personal connection to the Black church.
“I am excited for her fans—long-standing and new—to finally have a body of work that reflects those areas of her passion,” added Monica.
